The nose of our Sangio has hints of cherry, spice, clove and vanilla. Cherry chocolate hit the palate with a finish of black tea. Pairs nicely with red sauce, beef and gourmet pizza.
Our Sangiovese with its natural acidity and moderate tannins is ideal for enjoying by itself or with a hearty meal as well. The grapes come from Lonesome Spring Ranch, on the far eastern side of Yakima Valley. The grapes were hand sorted then stemmed and crushed. The wines fermented until dryness on the skins then pressed into neutral oak barrel.
The clone is Brunello di Montalcino, an exceptional clone capable of being age worth and showing dept and structure.
Sangiovese is the most planted red grape in Italy. The clone of this variety is the Brunello Clone, rare for Washington, but typically used in age worthy wines from Montalcino in Tuscany.
